One Test, Four Opportunities!
Thank you for your interest in P.A.C.T. (Police Agency Combined Testing). The four participating Cities of Euless, Hurst, North Richland Hills, and Southlake largely comprise the Mid-Cities region of the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. Together, these cities have joined forces to recruit the best and most qualified police officer applicants in the area. P.A.C.T. provides one test with multiple opportunities to become a police officer.
To participate in the P.A.C.T. test, complete the P.A.C.T. Pre-Application, print it and mail it in today to begin the process.
Minimum Requirements:
- Euless and North Richland Hills require 30 semester hours of accredited college credit from any discipline of study, while Hurst and Southlake both have a 60 semester hour requirement. Selected P.A.C.T. cities do offer possible exemptions for the college requirement.
- No prior police experience or certification is required to test.
- Applicants must undergo a detailed background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological examination, and medical evaluation.
- Applicants with a poor driving records or recent illegal drug use may be ineligible for employment.
- Applicants can not have been convicted of a Class B Misdemeanor or above in the last 10 years, and shall not have ever been convicted of any felony.
The preliminary testing process is usually completed in just one day, and consists of both a physical agility and written assessment. Scoring on the written portion will determine the applicant’s ranking on the eligibility list. Five points for military service may be added to passing scores of qualified applicants. Testing is offered approximately every six (6) months. Click here for the next test date. The selection process varies according to specific departmental need and may take up to six (6) months for Euless, Hurst, and Southlake, and up to one (1) year for the City of North Richland Hills. If you decline to pursue a position upon an agency’s invitation, you may remain on the eligibility list for possible selection by one of the other agencies. Any applicant failing to qualify or is not selected may reapply by repeating the application process for a later test offering.

Basic Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a legal U.S. citizen.
Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment. Hurst has maximum age guidelines.
Character: Good moral character, stable employment history, valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Weight in proportion to height. Vision correctable to 20/20 and free of color blindness. Euless has additional vision requirements. General good health. Normal hearing.

Physical Assessment
The physical assessment minimum standards are listed below. All applicants must pass all stages of the Physical Assessment Test.
- 30 sit-ups per minute
- 25 pushups, no time limit. Applicants may rest in up position only.
- 300 meter run in 1 minute 11 seconds.
- 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes 36 seconds.
There will be a minimum rest period of 10 minutes between the run stages.
